Application Guidelines:
Mini-Grant applications are to be submitted to your dean or director by the dates specified for your campus. The dean or director will review all applications and deny all applications they deem unfit before sending to the president’s office. The president will review and rank their Mini-Grant applications, and will submit up to 20 applications, in rank order, to the Foundation office for possible funding by the Foundation’s Scholarship and Grants Committee. This committee will review and select those applications it deems most worthy for funding.
- The purpose of a Mini-Grant is to support projects and programs that directly benefit students and classroom instruction.
- Mini-Grant applications may be submitted by any State Center Community College District faculty or staff member.
- Funds awarded must be used for what is requested in the approved Mini-Grant application. Suppose an approved Mini-Grant requires a modification after the Mini-Grant has been approved by the Foundation. In that case, a request must be submitted, in writing, to Rico Guerrero, Executive Director of the Foundation, for approval and must have a similar purpose.
- Funds may not be used for marketing materials, gifts cards, guest speakers, and/or food.
- Programs or projects selected for the 2025-2026 Mini-Grant funding must begin after the Mini-Grant is approved.
- Be concise and complete in your answers and explain your proposal so the readers are convinced that your project is a must-be-funded Mini-Grant. Review for spelling and grammatical errors.
- All items approved are property of the colleges/District, and not the individual awarded.
Final Report:
A final report that provides a brief summary of the how the funds were used, the number of students served, and the outcome of the project or program will be required from each Mini-Grant recipient (500 words or less).
Award Amounts:
The maximum funding level for a Mini-Grant application is $1,500.
